I was given this skirt as a last minute gift on Christmas, and it has to be my favorite article of clothing I received for the holiday. UNIF keeps getting it right, and while I constantly resort back to my grunge infested roots, it seems only natural that I would love a collection that shares these similarities. Side note: I thought it was pretty pathetic that a few truck drivers pulled off to the side of the road to drink a few beers and watch myself and the photographer take these photos. Why is it when you actually want a cop around, they are always unavailable? Some people are creeps. And I'm a creep, but I'm not THAT creep. To wrap it up, I thought I would give you guys a splash of red with a side of pouty in these shots. Hope you all are doing well, and thank you so much for your comments and checking back.

Excuse the goosebumps...I was freezing! You know when you wear something out, and you realize months later that it was completely sheer or too short and you hadn't been prepared for it at the time? Well, this applies to the floral short that I am wearing here. If I don't pair the short with tights, you have a 100/100 chance that you are going to see EVERYTHING. Pretty embarrassing that I realized this after I wore it several places over the past year. Of course, my tights never quite made it into my car for this photo so I was stuck was bare legs. I feel like I always do this?

Is it gross that I have a full table of Del Taco in front of me while writing this? I think it's alright if you say yes. I love the shoulders on this tee; however, the padding is a little strange so I'm debating whether or not I want to take it out. We were able to grab a few shots right before the rain came down, and thank God we did because I almost froze to the pavement. I'm beginning to crave the summer heat.

Sorry that I've been horrible on posting this week. A combination of work and bad luck have slowed me down. On the bright side, I shot with Nasty Gal for their vintage yesterday as well as an editorial piece. I absolutely adore them so I was very honored. More to come on that!

I picked up this skirt at the Wells Festival LA Sample Sale. UNIF was practically handing out awesome pieces for free - which contradicts their usual higher prices. I met up with a few people that worked there who I had taken photos of prior at the Rosebowl Flea Market, so they gave me the hookup. About 12 pieces for $150 whereas if I were buying off the site, it would typically be close to +800. I'm also wearing the first pair of Jeffrey Campbells I ever purchased a few years ago. At the time, no one knew who JC was and I would get stares from head to toe with the "YOU SLUT" look on many girls faces. You know, the same type of stare I got when walking out of the house in this outfit. Oh well!

This is the last top that was gifted to me by Crash & Burn over the holidays. It is quickly becoming one of my favored tops as I continuously enter my stage of minimalism and all things simplistic, but for those who know me, it only lasts for so long. The top has such a killer silhouette that I can't get enough of it. As for these Jeffrey Campbell Roscoe boots...I feel like our love connection is drawing to a close. The zippers seem to be in a vicious battle with the back of my heels, and the jingle of the buckles can pretty much alert everyone that I am trying to avoid that I am near from a mile away. Good thing I picked up a new pair that is similar to these without the cons. Plus, my new pair resembles the Balenciaga boots I die for much more. Up for grabs on this pair, anyone? :)

No, this isn't some extravagant Christmas/NYE post - and yes, I haven't posted for quite a few days. Guilty as charged. I wanted this New Year to come so that I can kick some sense into myself to get organized. Organization leads to more frequent posts, and to be frank, better posts. Sorry I couldn't share with you every crazy detail. I wish I could but the holidays have worn me out. Amid a heap of clothes, jewelry, and a new tv (I'll make sure to snap a few photos of my gifts) - my most cherished gift was this Marc Jacobs watch given to me by Adam. I adore it. Special thanks to Nasty Gal for the beautiful Christmas package that the ladies sent over, to Crash & Burn for their lovely gifts, and to Yuri and Huan from lookbook.nu for the delicious chocolate covered strawberries and cookies they gifted me. Another windy day. Really? Crash & Burn gifted me this awesome burgundy ombre top and I just so happened to wear nothing underneath it to emphasize the drop armhole effect. Not entirely- of course- but I feel blessed to have my best friend taking my photos rather than some creep who would get a kick out of how some of the shots turned out. Back to Crash & Burn. We all know how dreamy pastels can be, so when I took one look at Insight's Sonic Spell Bodice and turned around to Unif's Get It Skirt, it seemed only logical to combine forces into some cosmic display of pastel heaven. Don't get me wrong, I doll myself up quite frequently, but I had to tone the look down with a pair of studded combat boots so I didn't look like a giant mess of sugar, spice, and everything nice. There's a little bit of bad in me still.

I'm wearing two pieces from two amazing designers in these photos. The first is this drape front faux leather jacket gifted to me by dear friends at LAMB & FLAG that has stolen the number one slot in my holiday closet. The material feels like pure bliss and the overall fit it so spot on that I feel like it was custom fit. A huge congrats to them for their recent launch of www.lambandflag.com as well as their first store in the Brea Mall. I wish them the best of luck!

The second piece that I am wearing was custom made by a close friend of mine, Kristine Lopez. Many of you may know her as the sister of fashion blogger, Olivia Lopez (Lust For Life), whereas others may know her as the creator of Hard Couture. Kristine is so talented and offered to custom make this skirt for me after I refused to break my bank for a similar piece by Friend Of Mine (who I have been obsessing over for the last few months). She literally made this skirt for me while I sat there half dressed waiting for a fitting and talking about relationships and weekend plans. This gray top is the second piece gifted to me by LAMB & FLAG, and just like the first, the material is absolutely noteworthy. I dabble in several styles and typically can't enjoy blending in (as I'm sure many of you fine ladies and gents don't), so I decided to take this great basic and pair it with a sequin body con that shines with all of it's might. Adam and I shot this look in one of my favorite locations that I like to believe is my own little secret, but the flock of aged figures drilling their hogs into the asphalt and the run down homes that I found still occupied tell me otherwise. Either way, we attempted to scout a prime location and must have pissed off some reckless driver in the mean time... Let's just say, that during these shots, we spent a good 15 minutes laughing at the black pick-up truck that kept driving by with a middle finger pressed up against the glass. Hey sucker, you looked pretty cool while road raging it.

I finally did it. I've been procrastinating for a few years on putting up another youtube cover, but it's really difficult to not want to cover a song that is as amazing as Lana Del Ray's Video Games. The song is utter perfection and touches me in a way where no song has before. It fits the exact point in my life at the moment.

If you follow a winding dirt road shaded underneath endless rows of planted trees in the Mission Viejo hills, you'll experience a dreamy location speckled with a contrasting combination of mansions and cottages. I've since been obsessing over this rocky place because of it's tricks and surprises. Don't be fooled by what seems to be a stretch of miles and miles of repetitive desert ground, because for every ten feet that you step, you'll soon discover a whole mess of killer landmarks and hidden treasures. This will have to be my new favorite place to wander.

This photo was taken for a feature with Cosmo Russia, and I can officially say that I can breathe a sigh of relief that all of the photos have been sent on in. I can hardly explain the number of locations we tested out and were continuously stopped short by poor lighting. Finally, we settled on quite possibly the largest American Flag stone wall that I have ever seen. I'm thinking about stealing this wall and turning it into my bed. Between Calvin Harris' amazing set, Steve Aoki's champagne outpoor, and Cut Copy's heavenly tunes, I'd be a liar if I said that this year's Pacific Festival was solely a good time. I embraced a few long lost faces while I was serenaded by 50+ artists from morning till night. Just a good time? Wrong. A great time.

I was invited to an exclusive event this past weekend that celebrated the birth and story of Element Eden as a brand. As I pulled up to a pair of iron clad gated doors, I could hardly recognize the plant infested venue. Tropical flowers, vines, and various living greens speckled the grounds, and to my surprise - even shaded cages of exotic white tigers and other wildlife. Element handpicked the most amazing venue I've ever seen with perfectly polite waiters providing an overflow of champagne, candlelit walkways, and an entertainment of prized zebras and cackling parrots. Other highlights of the night included a short film on the background of Element Eden by one of their advocates - Amber Diandy, a fashion show from Eden's Spring 2012 Live.Learn.Grow Collection, and an array of tunes from sultry band Stone Darling. Can't wait to see what Element Eden has in store this upcoming year!

I picked up this UNIF tee at Wasteland a few weeks back after sweeping through Melrose for a minute. The last few visits to Melrose have challenged my love for the surroundings. I love a city that thrives off of the energy among it's people, but as I looped back and forth through familiar streets and empty intersections, I couldn't help but be hit by a ghostly presence. What is it with me and LA? I guess my curses against the sardine packed city of Los Angeles all those years ago agreed to be in my favor, and now - I suppose that Adam and I will ice the streets with our poorly addicting shopping habits...alone.

I went out with my camera for a street style section for a blog that I have been working on for Pacific Sunwear called Level 2. While out, I ran into one of UNIF's designers, who was happy to see that I was sporting the brand, and was also shot by Angelica Bonomo for a street style section (see photo above) for Foam Magazine.

In between scouting for an intriguing sense of style for my section as well as any goodies that I could snatch up for myself, I managed to return home with less than I had expected in my shopping bag and in my camera. I will be posting photos of my finds from this past weekend soon!

FYF!
After three long, tedious hours of baking in the summer's heat, the will-call line was eventually good to us, only to open a much smaller, but still never ending entrance line to FYF.

Man Man, AA Bondy, and Thee Oh Sees put on a great show. Even though my primary goal was to enjoy Panda Bear, the horrid will-call line must have worn me out, because half way through the set, I left the crowd and passed out (asleep, of course) on a hill with loads of randoms. The disappointment of the night: Lack of veggie burgers, long lines, and Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti's set. The shockers: the amount of people I recognized and the choir of children that Dead Man's Bones (Ryan Gosling's band) performed with. Check them out below (unofficial video):

You can't really argue with a bonfire and taco bar. Taylor and I put together an eventful night of s'mores, drinks, rockband, and a taco bar in celebration of Tinsley's 22nd, Taylor's 18th, and my 20th. The overall event: Successful. Successful if you include the two police tickets given out, the s'mores in my hair, and the drinks spilt on my jacket. Birthday weekend Part 2: Check.
