42. Save the McQueen!

Today is a very sad day for the fashion world.

Alexander McQueen
(March 17, 1969 - February 11, 2010)

It's tragic when a man, full of such high capabilities, has his life cut short. Lee Alexander McQueen, a British designer, continuously took risk after risk with each collection he created. His ability to take events from the deep corners of the world and bring them to life in a collection earned love from all of Hollywood, including celebrities like Rhianna, Kate Moss, Lady Gaga, SJP, and more. Mcqueen began designing early in his childhood, and after working for several tailors and costumiers, Mcqueen went on to receive a masters in fashion design at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, and later because the head designer at Givenchy. Several years later, Mcqueen left to expand his risque ideas and create his personal collections like Alexander McQueen and McQ.
I absolutely loved Alexander McQueens designs and his ability to incorporate the unseen into every garment. I'm devastated that I will not be able to see his future work, but wish his close family and friends my best regards.
